VARCom President Represents Northern Virginia on Year in Review Panel

Raul Danny Vargas, President and founder of VARCom Solutions, was the sole Northern Virginia representative during the special “Year in Review” panel of NewsChannel 8’s NewsTalk program.  The special also included panelist Sharrarne Morton and Steve VanGrack, both from Maryland, and moderator Bruce DePuty, the host of NewsTalk.  The one-hour program aired three times on January 1, 2008.

“I was honored to be one of only three panelists from across the entire Washington, D.C. region to discuss the important news and issues of 2007”, said Vargas of his participation on the show.  He added, “From public policy, to the economy to politics, it was a fascinating exchange of ideas and I was proud to have been the voice of Virginia on the panel”.

The special “Year in Review” has run for several years and focuses on major local and national news stories impacting the greater Washington, D.C. region.  Panelists also share their views on a variety of categories from News Story of the Year to Class Act of the Year and many more.  They also have the opportunity to make predictions for 2008.  Mr. Vargas replaced former Fairfax City mayor John Mason who served on the panel for five years but was no longer able to participate since assuming the role of executive director of the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, a role which precludes him from making public partisan political statements.
