VARCom Congratulates Volkswagen on Move to Herndon
VARCom
Solutions extends a warm welcome to Volkswagen of
America, Inc. to the Northern Virginia region.
Volkswagen of America announced today its decision to
relocate its U.S. corporate headquarters from Michigan
to Fairfax County during a ceremony held at its new site
in Herndon. The ceremony was attended by Virginia
Governor Tim Kaine along with other dignitaries and
business leaders.
VARCom
Solutions president Danny Vargas also attended the
ceremony. Mr. Vargas is the Chairman of the Dulles
Regional Chamber of Commerce and commented “this is
fantastic news for Herndon and the entire Dulles region
to have this kind of company, with its international
focus and visibility come to our community”.
The
site also will be the U.S. headquarters for Audi of
America, Inc., and other entities of Volkswagen. The
move will bring 400 jobs to the area beginning in the
spring of 2008. “Volkswagen of America is eager to
embark on a long and fruitful partnership with Virginia,
and to call Fairfax County home. Virginia is a perfect
fit for us as we take our company in an aggressive new
direction,” said Stefan Jacoby, president and CEO of
Volkswagen of America. “I thank everyone in the Fairfax
County government and community for making us so welcome
in our new neighborhood."
“They
see the value of our workforce and the thriving nature
of our economy”, added Vargas. In addition, the
corporation stated that access to Dulles airport and the
quality of schools were other important factors taken
into consideration.
